FIRST ANNUAL FD BOWL-A-THON
On
Sunday, March 19th, 2006 the first annual FD bowl-a-thon was held
at Woodmere Lanes in Woodmere, NY. This event was organized by
Jared Sirota as a community service project to raise funds for FD.
The event raised over $50,000.00 for treatment and research,
through the participation of 80 bowlers, mostly schoolmates,
friends and relatives of Jared and his cousin, Scott Fass. The
sale of raffles raised additional funds. There were many exciting
raffle prizes, including an Olympus digital camera/docking
station/printer, an iPod Nano and tickets to a NY Knicks game.
Many
people have to be thanked for making the day a great success - Jared
Sirota for an amazing job; Rachel Fass for helping
organize the event; Scott Fass for reaching his goal of
$20,000; Gary Kaplan for raising $19,750; Harold Sirota
for sponsoring the bowlers; Shoni Rozenberg for soliciting
sponsors and bowlers; Mark Schlau for sponsoring the raffle
and Jesus Chang of Devnik, Inc. for designing and
donating the great T-shirts. Thanks are also in order for all the
volunteers who helped on Sunday, to Geri, Cori and Lexi Sirota
for their enthusiastic support of this event, to all the bowlers
who participated, and again to Jared and Scott for doing such a
great job.
We
look forward to making our second bowl-a-thon as successful as the
first.
