  Alyssa Joseph, whose brother Mitchell has FD, attends Eastern High School in Voorhees, NJ and participates in the school's drama productions. This year, the cast members were divided into "families" to raise money for a charity of their choice. Alyssa asked her family (The Carraway Family) to support the Dysautonomia Foundation and they agreed. Up to that point, no one in the school had even heard about FD, but Alyssa educated them about the disease and the efforts of the Dysautonomia Foundation to conduct research and treatment programs for the benefit of people with FD.

The Carraway family included Alyssa Joseph, Jennifer Harris, Taylor Fritz, Leeann Mildner and Monica Fallon. On November 20th, 21st and 22nd, they all were in the cast of the school's production of Jack and the Magic Beans. On the opening night of the play, they sold refreshments and raised $450 for FD research. We are grateful to Alyssa for taking initiative and leading this effort.
