Joshua Lieberman
(Jack Posnack’s first cousin) is having his Bar Mitzvah on
December 15th 2007. As part of his “Mitzvah Project” he
has decided to increase awareness of FD and raise money to
find a cure by organizing “WALK-THE-TRACK FOR JACK”
walk-a-thon at his school. The event is scheduled for
Saturday – October 20th 2007 at 9:00am at Liberty Central
School in Liberty, NY. The rain date is October 27th.
Students are encouraged to get sponsors, and any amount
donation is appreciated.
Why is this
important to me?
I guess in my
life I took things for granted like all kids my age do. I
thought nothing of being able to eat a hot dog, feel pain if
something hurt me or cry real tears. My baby cousin Jack
can’t do any of the above. I feel the need to raise money
for research to help find a cure for his disease. I want my
baby cousin to share a milkshake with me at our family’s
custard stand or be able to dive with me in my pool without
worrying about getting water in his lungs. I want Jack to
have as normal of a childhood as possible. I also want
people to realize that there now is genetic testing so that
no other kid will have to suffer like my little cousin.
How can your
pledge help?
Any pledge, of
any amount, will be given to the FD Foundation. This
foundation is actively researching to find a cure for the
disease. Every dollar donated brings us one step closer to
finding a cure for Familial Dysautonomia. When we do find a
cure, all the FD kids around the world will have a brighter
future! Please help spread the word about this disease.
Let’s help prevent another child from becoming the victim of
this disease.
Thank you in advance for your
help and participation!
